Speech Recognition

We at Saince are very familiar with various speech recognition products.  We have found that speech recognition offers several benefits, with the two most important benefits being a reduction in transcription costs and improved turnaround.  However, there are some drawbacks.  In order for the product to be effective, physicians are required to setup their voice profiles, followed by a period in which the system is trained in the physician's dictation habits, word usage, etc.  Additionally, depending on the type of speech recognition used, the physician will be required to edit his own dictation.  Not all physicians are willing to do this.

Today, there are basically two types of voice recognition products; "front-end speech recognition," where the dictator is able to dictate, edit, and electronically sign their reports, and "back end speech recognition," where the dictator is unaware that the voice recognition program is running in the background.  In some front-end speech recognition programs, the physician has the option of sending his report to a transcriptionist for editing.  In those occasions where the physician decides to send his report to a transcriptionist for editing and in the back-end speech recognition process, where the dictator is not even aware that the process is going on, transcriptionists who are trained in the editing process are needed.

At Saince, we are familiar with both technologies.  Through our experience with the Nuance/Dictaphone transcription platform, our transcriptionists have experience working as traditional transcriptionists and as editors, utilizing both the Powerscribe and back-end speech recognition capability of the Transnet platform.  Not only that, but we are both willing and able to dial into your system through a VPN or Citrix connection and work on your transcription platform.  This eliminates the need for purchasing or adding costly interfaces with other transcription platforms as well as insuring rapid turnaround to meet your transcription needs.  If you have already invested in the technology, it may not make sense or be financially feasible to simply walk away from that investment because the transcription service you are using does not want to use that platform.  With Saince you don't have to abandon your investment.

If your hospital or clinic is currently using a Nuance/Dictaphone product (Powerscribe or Transnet), and you desire to outsource your work while continuing to use your current transcription platform, then you should consider Saince for your transcription needs.  We are familiar with both Powerscribe and Transnet.  Saince is able to provide you with transcriptionists who are trained on both platforms, but not only that, our transcriptionists have some of the highest quality standards in the industry. Let us show you how we can save you money.
